Moving to TBX

Wile-E-Coyote on rollar skates smiling with a giant magnet attached to his belt.

I came back from my run and gave WordPress another go: read through the documentation on the block editor, watched some videos, tried to make some headway. When that didn’t work I decided to just find a block theme that would work as-is, so I’d have a a starting place at least. But then, as I was browsing options, I realized that I hate how these all look. It’s as if every single site in the world suddenly has to look like an influencer’s page or a commerce site. I don’t like it, and I’m not playing that game.

So I’ve come back to TBX, have pulled up my two previous blog files: one is the OHL archive, the other is my very old (2017) and very elaborate recreation of my original WordPress site. Using them as a reference, I have a working blog that can post captioned images. I also think that the set-up is both simple enough that I can maintain and solid enough that I can build it up. I’ll have to wait and see, but for now I’m excited.
